Adding LC Filter for FPV cam and vtx
Adding LC Filter for FPV cam and vtx… by David HK July 2016
Recently I learned something called “LC Filter”, which is
able to reduce the noise of your DC power given to the FPV cam and vtx. Ie those white lines you see in your FPV
goggle from time to time, this is inherent from the fact that a single power
source (ie the quad battery) is being shared across multiple components, in
particular with the motors, will generate a lot of noises and causing the white
lines to appear in FPV cam. This is where the LC Filter comes in. You can refer to Oscar Liang’s page for more
details on LC Filter (https://oscarliang.com/lc-filter-fpv/)
Instead of building your own LC Filter, you can buy it from
Banggood for a few dollars, like this one.
And the wiring is very simple, +&- power in from
your PDB or battery source, then +&- power out to your FPV cam and
vtx. Note that the NH280 Pro original
FPV cam and vtx both operate in 12V, so I connect the 12V output from the PDB,
pass through this LC Filter, then to the NH280 original power input wire for
the FPV cam and vtx, like this…
Test result: I have no chance of testing it in the field
yet, but from my sitting room, I walked with my fpv goggle to my bedroom, it
certainly has less white lines…
It works! No more while lines in fpv screen if there is no obstacle in-between the quad and your vRx, so everyone
should add an LC filter to their FPV!
